Brazil: Fruit price fluctuations in Minas Gerais, mango and papaya drop

The State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SEAPA), in partnership with Emater-MG, Epamig and IMA, released a study on the prices of the main fruits sold at the Contagem warehouse, at CeasaMinas. The survey, which covers the period from December 2 to 13, 2024, revealed fluctuations in fruit prices, influenced by factors such as climate, supply, demand and competition. Among the fruits with price increases, the Pérola pineapple stands out, which registered an average increase of 4.2%, closing at R$83.33 per dozen. Prata bananas increased by 5.3% in the first week, stabilizing at R$5.00 per kilo. Green coconuts also had an average variation of 7.4%, reaching a price of R$2.90 per unit. Gala apples registered an increase of 4.1%, with a final price of R$9.53 per kilo. Large watermelons stood out with an increase of 18.4%, reaching R$1.93 per kilo.
