The latest market update from the Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) reveals a significant increase in the volume of poultry, mixed minced meat, and beef sold in Germany in January, with rises of 14.1%, 13.3%, and 4.9% respectively compared to the previous year. However, pure pork sales decreased by 6.2%, despite being 4.2% more expensive, leading to a 2.3% lower turnover. Prices of other meat categories fell, with beef, poultry, and mixed minced meat becoming cheaper by 3.3%, 3.7%, and 1.8% respectively. Meat products and sausage prices increased by an average of 3%, while meat alternatives saw a slight sales increase of 0.3%.
