Global soybean prices have driven up the cost of tempeh and tofu, with further increases expected due to supply disruptions in Brazil and inflation in the United States. The Director General of Domestic Trade in Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, announced that the price of tempeh may reach IDR 10,300 - 10,600 per kilogram, and tofu IDR 52,450 - 53,700 per board or IDR 650 - 700 per piece. This price hike is due to the rising cost of soybeans, which are currently priced at Rp. 11,500 per kilogram.
