Global Grain Market: European Wheat Futures Decline on Monday

On Monday, May 26, 2025, stock exchanges in the United States are closed in observance of Memorial Day. European wheat futures declined on Monday for the third consecutive session, as the strengthening euro heightened export concerns, and recent weather worries have subsided. The European Union's Agricultural Crop Monitoring Service MARS slightly raised its forecast for soft wheat yields in the current season in the EU, citing favorable rains in Southern Europe and so far limited consequences of the prolonged dry period in Northern Europe. Specifically, soft wheat yields are estimated at 6.04 t/ha, durum at 3.77 t/ha. The April estimate suggested 6.03 t/ha and 3.69 t/ha, respectively, according to MARS materials. The corn forecast remains unchanged from the April estimate at 7.45 t/ha. The forecast for sunflower is 2.09 t/ha, and for soybeans is 2.82 t/ha.
