The 2024/25 Harvest Plan for family farming was launched at the 47th Expointer, with a focus on the large number of family farmers in Rio Grande do Sul. The plan, which has over R$85 billion from the federal government, will allocate R$76 billion to the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf). The rates for this program vary from 0.5% to 6% per year, depending on the type of production. The government is also considering measures to assist producers affected by climate catastrophes with debt renegotiation and resource access. The Minister of Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira, also announced initiatives like de-registering names of producers and companies from Rio Grande do Sul who are delinquent, and a new line of financing for soil recovery.
