President Joko Widodo of Indonesia has revealed plans for the industrialization of dwarf coconut trees (Cocos Nucipera L.) grown in the country. The trees, which can yield between 140 and 180 coconuts within 2.5 to three years, can be used for palm sugar and coconut oil production. This initiative is expected to bring additional income to the community and can be carried out on unproductive lands. The government is allocating a total of 200 thousand dwarf coconut seedlings across various provinces, including Central Java.
