In the harvest event held in the high-altitude meadows of Bitlis, Governor Karakaya, along with beekeepers, removed the honeycombs from the hives and harvested the honey. Governor Karakaya noted that Bitlis karakovan honey, produced without any additives using natural production methods, made significant contributions to the regional economy. "Bitlis's geography, flora, and climate enhance the quality of this special honey. I congratulate our producers; our honey carries brand value not only in Turkey but also in the world," he said. Governor Karakaya stated that Bitlis ranked 5th in honey production last year with 2,225 tons of honey production and was first in Turkey in terms of the number of hives.
