In the week following Easter, the prices of cucumbers, asparagus, and other greenhouse vegetables dropped below the five-year average at VBT, with the exception of red peppers which saw a significant increase. The lack of sunny spring weather is impacting the pricing of summer vegetables. While tomato prices remain above the five-year average, the prices for head lettuce and asparagus have fallen below it. Strawberry prices also decreased but remained above the average. These price trends can be found on the agricultural figures page of the Flemish Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
