Gross hop harvest in Russia could quadruple by 2028

The Russian market's dependence on imported hops will decrease. By 2028, the country's gross hop harvest may increase fourfold, said Roman Nekrasov, director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. "We are planning a fourfold increase in the gross hop harvest [by 2028]. <…> We expect that the Russian market's dependence on imported supplies will decrease [due to] <…> our own production in different regions of our country," Nekrasov noted during the business program of the All-Russian Hop Growing and Brewing Festival "Green Gold of Russia" in Cheboksary.
