Gross hop harvest in Russia could quadruple by 2028

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture intends to test unmanned aerial vehicles for processing hop fields in Chuvashia in 2025 By 2028, the gross harvest of hops in Russia may increase fourfold, and the country's market dependence on imported supplies of this product will decrease. This was stated by Roman Nekrasov, Director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, at the All-Russian Festival of Hop Growing and Brewing "Green Gold of Russia" in Cheboksary. As follows from the slides given in the presentation of the representative of the ministry, the gross hop harvest in our country in 2023 amounted to 293.1 tons, by the end of 2024 it is expected to be at the level of 304.6 tons, by 2028 it is predicted to be up to 1,225 tons.
