[Korean Farmers' News, Reporter Lee Jang-hee] The former Upcycle Art Center near Gwangmyeong Cave in Gwangmyeong City, Gyeonggi Province, was reborn on November 22 as the "Gwangmyeong Cave Strawberry Smart Farm." The Gwangmyeong Cave Strawberry Smart Farm was established on the former Upcycle Center site, covering an area of 206 square meters. It features a 145 square meter enclosed and vertical smart cultivation facility, as well as experience and exhibition rooms and an educational hall. By applying smart agriculture technology, such as LED lighting, automated systems, and temperature and humidity sensors, strawberries are produced in an optimal environment regardless of the climate. The city plans to officially operate the smart farm starting in March next year after conducting a pilot operation this year to confirm production volume and system stability.
