Altai Krai has seen a 8% share in total region exports from January-November of this year, with 117 thousand tons of cereals being shipped abroad, predominantly buckwheat (50%). The top three exports also include pea groats and semolina, and are consumed by 33 countries, with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan being the top five. There has also been a surge in applications for cereal research, with nearly 2.2 thousand samples tested primarily for buckwheat, flakes, and peas.
