Tobacco has been harvested at nearly 90% across the four variety groups - Basma, Kaba Kulak, Burley, and Virginia at the moment. "In the context of a dry and hot summer and thanks to good agricultural practices during cultivation, harvesting, and the procurement of raw materials by tobacco producers, the result is excellent quality. However, this is at the expense of lower yields, which were obtained this farming year due to the two natural disasters - drought and water scarcity," commented for Agri.BG Tsvetan Filev, President of the National Association of Tobacco Producers - 2010 (NAT-2010) in Bulgaria.
