In July 2024, the Central Laboratory for Date Palm Research and Development at the Agricultural Research Center in Egypt conducted a series of extension activities to train students and farmers on the latest methods and technologies in palm tree cultivation. These activities were aimed at addressing the lack of agricultural engineers with basic palm tree knowledge and were conducted in collaboration with agricultural departments and major farms. The training covered various aspects of palm tree cultivation, including tissue culture technology, palm gardening, and efficient agricultural practices to improve crop quality and reduce loss. The activities also included visits to farms in Siwa and Bahariya Oasises to provide technical support and recommend improvements to face climate changes and pest issues.
