Kiwi harvest has started in Ordu, Turkey

In ORDU, the harvest of Ordu kiwifruit with a geographical indication, which is popular for its distinct aroma and long storage life, has begun. An average of 250 million TL will be earned from the kiwi harvest, which is expected to yield approximately 6 thousand tons. Ordu Kiwi Producers Association President Yusuf Uzunlar said, "There is a 100 percent increase in prices this year, which is a pleasing development for producers and us." In Ordu, where the second highest kiwi production is carried out after Yalova, the harvest of kiwifruit with a geographical indication has begun in Altınordu District. The producers, who entered the garden in the second week of November, carried out the harvest of the kiwifruits through a cooperative method. The kiwifruits, which are purchased by merchants while they are still on the branch, are taken to cold storage in the city after being collected and stored there.
