Harvest of hawthorn in Tatvan

In the village of Yelkenli, which is part of Tatvan district in Bitlis, the hawthorn harvest has begun. Due to the drought experienced this year, the hawthorn yield has decreased, while villagers have started the challenging harvest period. The hawthorn, which grows naturally in the village of Yelkenli, produced less fruit this year due to the dry season compared to previous years. Villagers noted that picking the hawthorn fruit, which grows in mountainous and steep terrains, is quite laborious, but they continue to pick it despite the difficulties.
