Parсsley producers in Kilis, Turkey, are struggling to find workers to harvest the parsley due to the high temperatures exceeding 40 degrees. The producers are also facing challenges as the cost of growing the parsley is higher than the selling price in the market. Ahmet Mesut Özgür, Deputy Chairman of Kilis Central Vegetable Producers Union, is advocating for the establishment of producer markets to address the imbalance and to benefit both the producers and consumers. The shortage of workers for parsley harvesting is compounded by the lack of accommodation for workers from neighboring provinces.
