A heavy thunderstorm with hail and heavy rain in Tarouca, Viseu, Portugal, has destroyed all agricultural production, including vegetables, apples, elderberries, cherries, and vines. The storm, which lasted for an hour on Sunday, also flooded about a dozen homes and caused further damage. The head of Civil Protection in Tarouca, José Damião, has contacted the Ministry of Agriculture to request a calamity decree for potential compensation for the affected farmers.
