The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in Indonesia has identified purebred chicken eggs as a key contributor to year-end inflation since 2019, with the highest contribution being 0.08% in December 2019. The price increase is due to increased demand, particularly from the industrial sector. Other commodities like purebred chicken meat and air freight rates also contribute to the late-year inflation. The highest inflation rates were recorded in Batam and Dumai, reaching 13.31% and 13.18% respectively.
