High temperatures affect snap bean crops

The production of snap beans in the Taquari Valley has registered negative impacts due to recent high temperatures, according to the Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (25). In the administrative region of Lajeado, particularly in the municipality of Vale Real, excessive heat compromised the flowering and fertilization of the plants, resulting in estimated productivity losses of around 10%. Despite the reduction in productive potential, Emater/RS-Ascar reports that the crop is in good phytosanitary condition. Nevertheless, it was necessary to control anthracnose to prevent the disease from advancing in the crops.
