A laying hen farm in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, has tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) antigens, potentially marking it as the 16th case this winter. The type of AI is yet to be confirmed by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency. The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters has deployed a response team and issued a 'Temporary Movement Suspension Order' for chicken farms and livestock-related facilities in several areas to prevent the spread of the disease. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended strict quarantine measures and advised farmers to report any symptoms to the quarantine authorities.
