[Reporter Lee Woo-jung, Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] Hongcheon County has entered into a technology exchange with Aomori Prefecture in Japan to improve the quality and competitiveness of Hongcheon apples, a representative agricultural product of the region. Hongcheon County Mayor Shin Young-jae, along with officials from the county's agricultural technology center, conducted a three-day business trip from the 9th to the 11th to exchange technology and cooperate on work aimed at further enhancing the productivity and quality of Hongcheon apples. They directly experienced advanced apple cultivation techniques and distribution systems in Itayanagi Town, Aomori Prefecture, which leads apple production in Japan. Additionally, they visited Narita Tsugato Orchard, a leader in Japan in terms of fruit shape and size, to focus on advanced fruit size management techniques and pest and disease management technologies.
