Peruvian fruit and vegetable exports saw a significant increase in 2021, reaching a value of US$5,872 million, which is a 21% increase from the previous year and a 3% increase from 2019. This growth is primarily driven by increased demand in the United States and European countries, with a notable interest from Asian buyers. The Association of Exporters (ADEX) is encouraging agro-exporters to participate in commercial events in Asia to expand their network and establish new business connections. The country's fruit exports, totaling US$4,816 million, saw a 26% increase from 2020, with grapes being the leading product. Vegetable exports, amounting to US$1,056,331,000, experienced a 3.7% increase from the previous year, with asparagus being the primary product. The United States was the leading destination for both fruit and vegetable exports.
