In September, beef slaughtering 276 thousand tons equivalent beef on the bone (tn/r/c/h), which represents a decrease of 4.6% per month, considering the number of working days, with a greater number of heads of cattle slaughtered and greater weight in the hook of the beef. The data corresponds to the monthly survey of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Meat and Derivatives of the Argentine Republic (CICCRA), and highlights that in the comparison with September 2021 of 7.9%, although this was "driven by the greater number of slaughtered heads and the increase in the average hook weight". But this does not translate into increased meat consumption. In fact, in the last three years the consumption of beef has contracted 7.6%.
