The United States, Europe and Asia continue to be its main destination markets. Fruits, vegetables and Andean grains are the most requested foods. As of July of this year, 15% of agricultural exports (631 million dollars) were made by micro and small exporting companies, as well as by other forms of business organization such as associations and cooperatives, in which family farming has a strong presence, either as a direct supplier to the world or as a supplier to trading companies, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). The minister of the sector, Víctor Maita, said that the item seeks to bring family farmers closer to cooperatives and associations to access quality and competitive products to national and international markets, which will increase the quality of life of peasant families.
