Huánuco: Sierra Azul guarantees access to water resources with water planting and harvesting projects

The Executive Unit Sierra Azul Fund (UEFSA) continues to strengthen the Huanuco agricultural sector with the implementation of water planting and harvesting projects, a strategy that guarantees access to water resources throughout the year and improves the quality of life of hundreds of farming families. This year, the UEFSA has been executing five qochas in different provinces of the region. Two of them have already been completed and three are currently being executed, directly benefiting rural communities that now see a more productive and sustainable future with hope. In the province of Dos de Mayo, district of La Unión, the construction of two qochas has been completed, benefiting 36 farming families, allowing a water recharge of 69,879 cubic meters for 455 hectares of crops. Additionally, these works generated 1,056 local workdays and represented an investment of S/482,659.
