Hungarian mushroom growers can apply for HUF 20 billion in support

Applications can already be submitted for a call to support the development of mushroom production plants. In connection with the call announced within the framework of the Rural Development Program with a budget of HUF 20 billion, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said that the demand for cultivated mushrooms is constantly growing, and the sector has excellent export opportunities. Mushrooms are rich in nutrients, extremely healthy food in the so-called “superfood” category. The water footprint of mushroom growing is the lowest of all foods, only 5-8 liters of water are needed to produce 1 kilogram of mushrooms - the Ministry of Agriculture wrote.
