The Hungarian Food Control Authority plans to destroy 40 tons of genetically modified corn seeds that were illegally imported from Ukraine. Hungarian Agriculture Minister Istvan Nagy announced the move, adding that a case has been filed against the distribution company involved. Hungary will continue its national ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine until an international solution is found. However, the ban does not extend to the import of seeds or the transit of goods from Ukraine through Hungary to other countries' seaports.
