Imports of tangerines increased by 14.4% in Russia

Russia has enough tangerines for the New Year, their import by December 5 increased by 14.4% and amounted to 738.3 thousand tons, Interfax writes with reference to the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor. The main supplier of these citrus fruits is Turkey, which imported 311.1 thousand tons. 148.9 thousand tons were imported from Egypt, 72.1 thousand tons from China, 58.2 thousand tons from South Africa, 44.7 thousand tons from Iran, 21.6 thousand tons from Georgia, 20.1 thousand tons from Abkhazia, 18.2 thousand tons from Morocco, and 10.5 thousand tons from Pakistan. Acting Abkhazia's Minister of Agriculture Beslan Dzhopua previously told the agency that control over the import of tangerines from the republic had been tightened due to the discovery of a pest, the western flower thrips, in several batches.
