In 2020, Russia significantly increased its agricultural exports to Uzbekistan by 63% in volume and 48% in value, amounting to 930 thousand tons worth $689 million. Sunflower oil, chocolate confectionery, soybean meal, and margarine were the top exports to the country, which is the 11th largest importer of Russian agricultural products. Uzbekistan, with its large population and reliance on agriculture for over 40% of its GDP, imports mainly cereals, oils, fats, and sugar products. There is potential for Russian exports to further increase, particularly in confectionery and margarine, as these products are culturally significant and widely consumed in Uzbekistan.
