The European Union (EU) is projected to experience a decline in most types of livestock in the second half of this year, according to the EU statistical office. The most significant decreases are expected in the number of goats and sheep, with a drop of nine percent to 2.4 million and seven percent to 15.6 million respectively. A slight decrease is also anticipated in pig numbers and gross cattle production. In contrast, Australia's pork production is predicted to rise by 2% in 2024.
