From January to May 2023, Ukraine was a net importer of cheese, bringing in 13,000 tons valued at $77.9 million. The majority of these imports came from Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Domestically, Ukrainian cheese exports amounted to 3.3 thousand tons, valued at $16 million. The main destinations for these exports were Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Jordan. In May, a notable decrease in international cheese prices was observed.
