The government of Georgia has decided to implement a state program to co-finance refrigerated warehouses for the storage of berry crops for agricultural cooperatives. The program aims to support small and medium-sized farmers in Western Georgia, where a large harvest of blueberries is predicted in the coming years. The Rural Development Agency will finance warehouse refrigerators with a volume of at least 30 tons, with co-funding of up to 70% of the cost or a maximum of 250,000 lari ($96,000) per beneficiary.
