Currently, Kazakhstan is constructing 5 large oilseed processing plants with a total capacity of 421,000 tons. This was reported by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov at a meeting of the Economic Policy Council. He noted that the country has seen price increases for several socially significant goods, including sunflower oil. At the same time, specific measures are being taken to rectify the situation: in 2024, sunflower oil production has increased by 15%, which is twice the domestic demand. Over 6 months of this year, production volume reached 388,000 tons, which is 21.3% more than the same period last year. Moreover, in January–March, 294,000 tons of oil were exported – a 41% increase compared to the previous year.
