Kazakhstan has successfully reduced the area of infection with quarantine objects by half since 2018, according to Almabek Mars, Chairman of the Committee for State Inspection in the Agro-Industrial Complex. This achievement is credited to timely chemical treatments and effective quarantine measures. Despite these efforts, over 5,000 violations were found in 2021, leading to administrative fines totaling 392 million tenge and the suspension of product imports from certain countries. The country is now focusing on harmonizing its phytosanitary requirements with potential export markets, notably signing an agreement with China to export barley feed meal, as 338 Kazakhstani enterprises have been approved for export privileges to China out of a total of 664.
