Kyrgyzstan's First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Nurdin Alisher, announced that the country has nearly 100% seed availability for the 2023 agricultural season. The total agricultural land area has increased by 4,000 hectares from the previous year, reaching 1.232 million hectares. The Ministry is working to reduce the unused land by 100,000 hectares. Last year, the seed fund was updated with imported seeds from Russia, so no seeds were purchased this year. Loans are available to seed farms and rural producers through state banks at a 4.5% interest rate for a period of three years. Seeds are being distributed at a 30% discount for the spring sowing of 2023.
