In Malatya, known as the apricot capital of Turkey, agricultural production has been diversifying in recent years following global climate change and frost disasters. Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Agriculture is conducting studies to promote the production of blueberries and strawberries. Professor Dr. Kazım Gündüz from Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Agriculture stated that the aim is to increase berry production throughout the city within the scope of projects carried out with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent. Prof. Dr. Gündüz said, "As a university, we are on the field to diversify plant production after the frost disaster. In this context, we are conducting two separate projects on strawberries and blueberries. In both projects, we are providing theoretical and practical training to our producers."
