Rostov Oblast, a key region in Russia for commercial livestock farming, saw a 4.5% increase in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter over the past nine months, totaling 291.5 thousand tons. Poultry made up 47.0% of this production. The region also produced 1.26 billion chicken eggs and 853.8 thousand tons of milk. The number of poultry has also increased by 10.3% to 19.4 million heads. The industry has received support from both federal and regional budgets, and there is focus on improving animal breed qualities and introducing innovative breeding methods.
