In Russia, they want to increase railway transportation tariffs by 5–10%

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has developed a draft order to increase tariffs on freight rail transportation by 10%. The corresponding document has been published on the federal portal of draft normative legal acts. The new draft order has been prepared in accordance with the order of the Russian Government 2991-r of December 9, 2017. The decision of the Cabinet is planned to include a number of amendments. The basis was also the application of the largest domestic railway operator, JSC Russian Railways (RZD). The company sent the corresponding letter on October 13. The document notes that the new increase corresponds to the current forecast of the socio-economic development of Russia for 2026 and the planned period of 2027 and 2028. At the same time, the increasing coefficient of 1.1 will be maintained for the tariffs on empty runs (empty transport – ROSNG) of universal rolling stock (for example, gondolas, platforms, and covered wagons).
