The Silesian Voivodeship in Poland has announced the recipients of program subsidies worth PLN 1.112 million to support the protection of nature and landscape in the Beskids and Kraków-Częstochowa Upland through sheep and goat grazing. The Transhuman Shepherding Foundation, Dobry Widok Foundation, and Foundation for the Development of Sheepdogs will each receive PLN 1.087 million, while the Natural and Cultural Heritage Center Foundation will receive PLN 25,000. The 'Owca Plus' program, which has been operational since 2007, has led to the restoration of pastures and increased interest in sheep products and cultural events related to traditional pastoral economy.
