The Astrakhan region has seen a 5% increase in black caviar production, reaching 25 tons, due to an increase in the number of sturgeon farming enterprises. The region farmed a total of 2,400 tons of commercial sturgeon this year, with the majority of the caviar obtained using the live method in spring and summer. Sturgeon farming is a key area of aquaculture in the region, with the number of farms involved having increased from 42 to 57 this year.
