Moldova exported approximately 17,000 tons of table grapes in the same period as last year, with Romania and Kazakhstan being the top importers. However, the country has experienced a decrease in table grape exports this marketing year, despite having a higher harvest of over 100,000 tons and better grape quality compared to the previous year. This decrease is due to the Russian embargo, reduced demand, and increased electricity tariffs, resulting in only 20-25 thousand tons of grapes being stored for sale in the upcoming months, a significant decrease from the 40,000 tons stored last year. As a result, many high-quality grapes are being diverted to wineries due to the uncertain commercial prospects and increased storage costs.
