Russia: In Transbaikalia, drought-affected farms will receive help with fodder procurement

A critical situation regarding hay procurement has developed in three regions of Transbaikalia; the regional governor, Alexander Osipov, has instructed to provide assistance to farmers. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Agriculture. “The governor set us the task of supporting all the affected farms, organizing measures to compensate for the costs of transporting feed,” the press service quoted the region’s Minister of Agriculture Denis Bochkarev as saying. The minister clarified that a survey of the condition of the grass in the municipalities affected by the abnormally hot weather was carried out. “A critical situation has been identified in three entities: the Onon district, the Mogoituy district and partly in the Aginsky district. We worked with the heads of other districts of the region on the allocation of areas for haymaking to farms that do not have enough space for harvesting.
