In Ukraine, prices for cabbage are rapidly falling: how much does a kilogram already cost?

Over the week, prices in Ukraine for white cabbage have decreased by an average of 19%. Currently, the vegetable is being shipped at 6-12 UAH/kg, although the price was previously 7-16 UAH/kg. These data are provided by EastFruit analysts.

The price drop for white cabbage is explained by the fact that farmers in almost all regions of Ukraine have started harvesting late varieties of this vegetable. Thus, the surplus of supply is contributing to the reduction in prices.

However, analysts suggest that the price drop for the vegetable is a temporary phenomenon. Currently, cabbage that is not suitable for long-term storage is entering the markets. This is due to the fact that this year's weather has negatively affected the appearance of medium and late varieties. Prolonged drought has led to cracking of the heads.

It is worth noting that today, prices for white cabbage in Ukraine are on average 50% lower than they were a year ago.

White cabbage is being sold at Silpo for 17 UAH per kilogram.

Novus has set the price for this salad vegetable at 11.89 UAH/kg.
