Peru's National Institute of Quality (Inacal) has introduced a new technical standard for roasted or ground coffee to promote its commercialization with quality standards in the national and international markets. The standard, "NTP 209.028:2021 COFFEE. Roasted or ground coffee beans. Requirements", aims to improve the value chain of the product and is part of the 33 Peruvian Technical Standards developed by Inacal to enhance the marketing of coffee. The institute has also collaborated with the Swiss Cooperation to develop seven specialized Implementation Guides for Coffee. The consumption of Peruvian coffee beans and ground coffee has seen a significant increase of over 30% in the last three years.
