Salt is one of the most commonly used seasonings in all kitchens around the world and an essential ingredient in Peruvian gastronomy, which is why it is fundamental that it meets high quality standards that safeguard the health of consumers. With this purpose, the National Institute of Quality (Inacal) approved three Peruvian Technical Standards (NTP) that establish testing methods to determine the quality requirements of salt intended for human consumption. These standards allow for the guarantee that the production and consumption of salt in Peru develop under reliable and safe parameters, strengthening the good practices of the industry and protecting the health of the population.
