India will eliminate the duty-free imports quota of 2 million tonnes of crude sunflower oil for the upcoming fiscal year, starting April 1. This decision is aimed at supporting local oilseed farmers and could result in a rise in palm oil imports. The move follows the government's decision to remove the duty-free imports quota for crude soyoil in January. India primarily sources sunflower oil from Russia and Ukraine, while palm oil is mainly imported from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
