India's organic farm product exports surged in 2020-21, reaching over $1 billion and marking a 51% increase from the previous year despite COVID-19 supply chain challenges. The total agricultural exports also saw growth, with organic product volumes increasing by 39% to 8,88,179 tonnes. Key exports included oil cake and meals, oil seeds, cereals, millets, spices, tea, medicinal plant products, dry fruits, sugar, pulses, and coffee. The main importers were the US, EU, Canada, UK, Australia, Switzerland, Israel, and South Korea. India has recently secured market access for several agricultural products in various countries, although pesticide residue issues have affected Basmati rice exports to the EU.
