The domestic sugar industry in Vietnam is facing challenges due to a decrease in sugarcane supply and production, while the demand for sugar from food and beverage processing factories is increasing. This has led to a situation of smuggled sugar being common. To address this issue, the government and relevant parties need to implement specific measures to promote industrial sugar production, protect domestic sugar production, and establish a flexible trade policy to ensure supply and stabilize prices. Additionally, efforts should be made to detect and deter illegal trading and transportation of sugar products.
