Inflation in Metropolitan Lima registered an increase of 0.10% in January 2026 compared to December of the previous year, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). With this result, the accumulated variation over the last twelve months —between February 2025 and January 2026— reached 1.70%, a level that remains within the target range of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). The behavior of prices was mainly influenced by the increase in spending on restaurants and hotels, as well as on miscellaneous goods and services and food and non-alcoholic beverages, sectors that exerted greater inflationary pressure during the month. Increases were also recorded in furniture and household items, clothing, recreation, alcoholic beverages, communications, education, and health.
